Another night of fantastic football is behind us, the evening of April 24th had teams fighting for every ball and every flag. The night kicked off with Remember the Tightans (2 – 0) taking on the mighty Cougars (2 – 1). The Tightans won the coin toss and chose to defer, having the Cougars start with the ball. QB Dvir Weinberg took the field with two of his own kids, Rivka and Chaim, and Amram Sherby. The Weinberg family (and Sherby) made nice advances, but fell short of their goal, making way for the Tightans offence to take the field. The Tightans, led by QB Moshe Shear, demonstrated a dominant presence on the field, with beautifully completed passes to Zachi Silas, Bucky Apsidorf and Naftali Winocour. Despite missing the Singer Sisters, The Tightans were quick to put points on the board with a Bucky TD, but their two point conversion fell short, leaving the score at 6-0 Tightans. The Cougars came back on offense with their teeth baring with nice catches by Rivka, Sherby and CB Davies. A fourth down run by Dvir just couldn't secure the first down and the Tightans re-took the field. Moshe Shears throws were beautifully on point as he worked tirelessly to avoid Chaim Weinbergs superb rushing. A TD by Zachi Silas and a successful two point conversion put the Tightans up 14-0 at half time. The Tightans came back from halftime with fire in their eyes as TDs from Zachi and Bucky bumped the score up to 27-0. With about a minute left on the clock, Tightans QB Moshe Shear gracefully stepped down, allowing other teammates a shot at throwing the ball. It proved a good decision on his part as Zachi Silas threw on last TD pass, ending the game at 33-0 Tightans.
