Week Ten Of The FM Home Loans AFI League was a week of top matchups going down to the wire as their fans were on the edge on their seat at the packed Kraft Stadium. Most games were close, as some even went down to final drives of the game. The teams fought hard to keep their place in the playoff standings as the road to the 30th Holy Land Bowl grows closer.
Toras Chaim (7-5-2) VS Chaikel Travel (12-2)
Both offenses had no problems scoring in this top tier matchup. Toras Chaim took a late lead with under a minute left to go in the game when Shmuli Sauer caught a go ahead touchdown. The lead was short-lived, as quarterback Avi Zern found wide receiver David Abell for the winning score in a thrilling game one victory 25-20 over Toras Chaim. Chaikel Travel’s offense was in full affect in game two, blowing out Toras Chaim 25-6.
Skokie Rebels (2-12) VS Pizzeria Efrat (7-7)
Quarterback Akiva Schwartz three touchdown passes to help Pizzeria Efreat to a game one win 19-7. Skokie Rebels bounced back in game two behind wide receiver Sender Galbut stellar play, and completed the upset over Pizzeria Efrat in game two 14-7.
Mevs (11-4-1) VS Mud Dogs (4-9-1)
Mevs continued their winning streak versus the struggling Mud Dogs as they won easily in game one 24-6. Mev’s quarterback Uriel Green kept hitting his top targets Jonathan Bick and Shai Rosalimsky to propel their team to a game two victory 22-6.
Gorillas (2-9-3) VS BMF Falcons (9-5)
The Falcons offense was clicking on all cylinders in game one as quarterback Yosef Rudansky led his team to a game one victory 24-7. The Gorillas fought hard in game two but fell short by a point in a 14-13 loss.
Psychobunny’s (8-5-1) VS DEC (9-4-1)
DEC stormed back after falling down 6-0 to score eighteen unanswered points in large help to two safeties and a surplus of ground and pound running game to win game one 24-14. DEC looked poised to win game two, leading 12-7 with under a minute to go, but the Psychobunny’s quarterback Ari Ganz threw a laser to Chatz Katz in the endzone on a fourth and long to shock DEC in a game two 13-12 victory.
The Deep Sleepers (7-7) VS Big Production (14-0)
Big production had their hands full in game one versus The Deep Sleepers trying to keep their undefeated streak alive. Quarterback Dani Eastman threw it to his receiver who lateraled it back to him for the winning score in a tight 24-18 game one win over The Deep Sleepers. The Big Production’s offense rolled in game two, to an easy 22-7 victory.
Big Blue (9-6-1) VS West Hempstead Rams (2-9-3)
Big Blue bounced back in week ten with a tight win in game one 14-12. Quarterback Jerome Wojtalik connected with wide receivers Naftali Winococur and Baruch Apisdorf to help their team to an easy game two victory 25-6. Defender Avi Weinreb had four interceptions on the night.
Team Caleb (4-7-3) VS Route 38 Roughriders (2-8-2)
Rough Riders Wide receiver Binyamin Berkowitz caught a touchdown with under a minute left in the game to salvage a 8-8 tie. The Roughriders battled hard and completed the upset win over Team Caleb 12-9 in game two.
