Week Twelve Of The FM Home Loans AFI League was a week of clinching playoff seeds for many teams. A few teams battled hard to stay in the playoff hunt as a few spots are still open as the season heads into its final week. The fans packed into Kraft Stadium on a chilly winter evening to see many top teams win their final games of the season. The stage is almost set for the road to the 30th FM Home Loans AFI League Playoffs and the road to the Holy Land Bowl.
Vintage Vikings (12-4-2) Vs BMF Falcons (11-7)
Vikings wide receiver Dovi Salzburg caught two touchdowns to lead his team to a game one win 13-12 over the Falcons. Salzburg caught three more touchdowns in an 18-0 game two shutout over the Falcons.
Gorillas (4-11-3) Vs Mud Dogs (5-12-1)
Jonny Rush lead his defense to a 13-0 shutout victory over the Mud Dogs in game one. The Gorillas power offense was too much for the Mud Dogs as they won easily 19-0 in game two.
Psychobunny’s (11-6-1) Vs Senter Kings (5-10-1)
Michael Brooke had an interception touchdown to seal a game one win 18-7 over Senter Kings. Psychobunny’s came back from down 14-0 behind receiving touchdowns from Yoni Panigel and Elisha Rudman to win game two 15-14.
Jerrys Kids (8-10) Vs Mercaz Moosen (6-9-1)
Mercaz Moosen’s cornerback Naftoli Goldshein took an interception back for a touchdown to seal a game one victory 26-14 over Jerrys Kids. Simcha Hoch caught a touchdown and the go ahead two point conversion with under a minute left to go in the game to lead Jerrys Kids to game two win 8-7.
Toras Chaim (8-5-3) Vs Shana Bet Bochurim (5-10-1)
Shmuli Sauer lead Toras Chaim on both sides of the ball to win game one easily 19-6. Both teams battled hard in game two, with the defenses being the story in a 0-0 tie.
The Salty Pretzels (7-8-1) Vs High On Life (13-2-1)
High On Life’s power offense led the way in a 27-0 game one victory. The Salty Pretzels kept it close in game two but fell in a close 14-12 loss.
Route 38 Roughriders (4-9-3) Vs Shua’s Boys (2-16)
The Roughriders bounced back in week eleven, playing great one both sides of the ball, and winning both matchups in shutout fashion 14-0.
Bayberry Broncos (10-7-1) Vs Lev Mordechai (4-12)
The Broncos offense came out firing behind quarterback Amiel Kerstein to win game one 23-0. Lev Mordechai could not keep up with the mighty Broncos and fell in game two 18-6.
