Week Thirteen Of The FM Home Loans AFI League saw many teams fighting for playoff seeding and a few teams battling for the last tier one playoff spots.   The last week of the regular season brought out the hardcore fans who battles the cold Jerusalem winter weather at Kraft Stadium.  Teams were able to work out their last needed twitches before the playoffs begin.  Thirty-Two teams will enter the 30th FM Home Loans AFI League Playoffs, but only one will hold the Holy Land Bowl Trophy.

 

Chaikel Travel (15-3) Vs Skokie Rebels (5-13)

Yossi Sherr and Chaim Harris caught touchdown passes in a game one 12-0 win for Chaikel Travel, who knocked out the Skokie Rebels from the tier one playoffs.  The Rebels bounced back in game two behind wide receiver Dovid Marmurstein’s two touchdown receptions in a 18-6 victory.

T-Seahawks (10-7-1) Vs Team Caleb (5-10-3)

Meir Reischer threw multiple touchdowns to help the T-Seahawks win game one easily 26-6.  Team Caleb had trouble keeping up with the offensive power of the T-Seahawks and fell in game two 20-6.

Augenbaum Realty (12-4-2) Vs High On Life (14-2-2)

High On Life stormed back in game one to tie the game 23-23 on the last drive of the game.   High On Life clinched their division in a game two 19-13 victory behind wide receiver Elliot Sayegh two touchdown receptions.

Lev Mordechai (6-12) Vs The Salty Pretzels (7-10-1)

Quarterback Mordi Charnowitz led Lev Mordechai with a throwing and rushing touchdown to win game on 12-6.   Lev Mordichai’s wide receiver Sam Wachtel helped his team win game two 20-6 behind his stellar play.

Mercaz Moosen (7-10-1) Vs Shana Bet Bochurim (6-11-1)

Shana Bet Bochurim’s quarterback Isaac Laifer had a rushing and throwing touchdown to help his team win game one 13-7 and sneak into the last playoff spot.  Mercaz Moosen clinched their own playoff spot with a big win in game two 13-6.

Route 38 Roughriders (4-11-3) Vs Englewood (12-3-3)

Englewood had no trouble taking care of business versus a struggling Roughriders squad, winning game one 25-6 and game two 28-6.

Senter Kings (5-12-1) Vs Toras Chaim (10-5-3)

Toras Chaim knocked out Senter Kings from the tier one playoffs with wins in game one 6-0 and game two 15-9.  Shumli Sauer’s stellar play on both sides of the ball propelled his team in both wins.

Pizzeria Efrat (8-9-1) Vs DEC (10-6-2)

Both teams battled hard in a tight game one, which ended in a 14-14 tie.  DEC went into the playoffs with a game two 13-7 win, behind wide receiver Moshe Shear rushing and receiving play.
