Week seven of The FM Home Loans AFI League was a week of top teams squaring off as the second half of the season gets fired up. The fans fought off the chilly Jerusalem weather and packed into Kraft Stadium to watch their favorite teams fight to stay in the high playoff seeding. Many upsets, late game winning drives, end of game winning plays, and mental mistakes all took place in a crucial week of exciting football. The weeks are slimming down to the road to the 30th FM Home Loans AFI League Holy Land Bowl.
Big Production VS. BMF Falcons
Big Production continued their undefeated season with an impressive game one win in big help from quarterback Dani Eastman’s three touchdown passes. The falcons kept it close in game two vs the star-studded Big production but fell short losing 14-6.
Mud Dogs VS. Silly Salmon
Wide receiver Shmuel Abraham caught the only score in the low scoring game to lead the Mud Dogs to a game one victory 6-0. The Mud Dogs defense was in shutdown mode again in game two shutting out Silly Salmon 14-0.
Derech Etz Chaim VS Toras Chaim
DEC started off game one with a quick safety and a touchdown from Gidon Hazony which was all they needed to hold off Toras Chaim for a game one win 8-6. Toras Chaim came back strong in game two but could not hold the lead late in the game as DEC’s running game proved to be the difference in a game two 14-13 victory.
Vintage Vikings VS. The Deep Sleepers
Both offenses were unstoppable in game one with both teams scoring every drive. Game one was deciding on the last play of the game as quarterback Nussie Felder threw it up and wide receiver Dovi Salzburg jumped over everybody and brought in the winning touchdown in a 25-20 victory for the Vikings. The Vikings defense bounced back and shutout The Deep Sleepers in game two 7-0.
Jerry's Kids VS Senter Kings
Jerrys kids came back on the last drive of the game as quarterback Meir Cohen found wide receiver Simcha Hoch for a touchdown and wide receiver Ari Loeb for the go ahead extra-point to defeat the Senter Kings 8-7 in game one. Jerrys Kids quarterback Meir Cohen was locked in and paved the way for a game two victory 14-12.
Pizzeria Efrat VS Mercaz Moosen
Pizzeria Efrat’s Wide receiver Elazar Kolom had the only touchdown in game one leading his team to 7-0 win. Alex Hirt broke open a scoreless game with a punt return touchdown to lead Pizzeria Efrat to a game two victory 13-0.
Shana Bet Bochurim VS Skokie Rebels
Sender Galbut Took the opening kickoff for a touchdown to help the Skokie Rebels pick up their first win of the season in game one 12-6. Shana Bet Bochurim came back strong in game two behind playmakers Joey Mogilner and Avi Nat to win game two 19-7.
High On Life VS. Route 38 Roughriders
High On Life’s offense was rolling in game one as wide receiver Elliot Sayegh had multiple scores to help his team win game one 28-6. The Rough Riders could not hold their lead late in the game as High On Life was able to score on the last play to tie the game at 18-18.
Mevs VS. Gorrilas
Mevs came out strong in game one behind playmakers, quarterback Uriel Green and wide receiver Jonathan Bick to win game one 24-7. Mevs quarterback Uriel Green had a winning rushing touchdown late in game two for a 25-20 victory.
