D.E.C and Mercaz fall in defeat

The Elite 8 of The FM Home Loans AFI League proved once again that anything can happen in the game of football. Teams poised to win the Holy Land Bowl were shocked and will now be watching from the sidelines. All players showed up to play under the bright lights on a foggy evening in Jerusalem at Kraft Stadium. Teams were fired up, with a ticket to the Final 4 on the line. The stage is set, the destination is near, and the chance to play in 31st Holy Land Bowl is now.


Pizzeria Efrat Vs BDMG

Pizzeria Efrat jumped out to a 19-0 lead in the first half behind shutdown defense and their ground and pound rushing game. BDMG stormed back in the second half with twelve unanswered points and looked poised to pull off the comeback but fell short in an 20-12 loss to Pizzeria Efrat.


D.E.C Vs Service King Spartans

Both teams traded scores and turnovers in the first half which resulted in a 7-6 lead for Service King Spartans. The Spartans continued to play their small ball football of driving the ball down the field slowly while running down the clock and playing stellar defense. In the second half, both teams again traded scores, but with the Service King Spartans hanging on to a 13-12 lead they were able to hold off the last drive of D.E.C and win 13-12.


Soulja Boi Vs Mercaz

Soulja Boi started Tzvika Septimus as their new quarterback and he surprised the defense of Mercaz with his quickness and agility which resulted in putting his team up early versus a talented Mercaz squad. Mercaz Moosen bounced back and brought it back to within a one score game at halftime. Both teams struggled in the second half to put up points and Soulja Boi held the offense of Mercaz to zero second half points to complete the upset victory 15-12.


Rebbishe Vikings Vs Toras Chaim

Toras Chaim played stellar football on both sides of the ball all game versus a beefed up Rebbishe Vikings team. Toras Chaim was able to halt the run game of the Rebbishe Vikings and apply heavy pressure all game on the quarterback. Toras Chaim executed with precision on numerous offensive drives to win 33-6 and advance to the Final 4.


O.A. Huskies Vs Soulja Boi

The O.A. Huskies looked to continue their miraculous run in the playoffs. The O.A. Huskies were winning by two scores and in good position to win and advance to the final four before Soulja Boi stormed back with two scores late in the second half to force overtime. The game will be played out at a later date with the score currently at 19-19.
