The Mob makes their mark on the League

Week 2 of The FM Home Loans AFI League was a week showcasing many new hungry teams. Many teams bounced back from a tough Week 1. They were new teams still figuring out who they are; and what they need to change to put together a winning streak. The journey has just begun but we are starting to see who has what it takes to make it to the Holy Land Bowl.

 

D.E.C (1-0-1) Vs The Whistle Blowers (0-0-1)

The Whistle blowers played their opener of the season versus a stacked D.E.C squad. D.E.C had trouble moving the ball versus The Whistle Blowers tough defensive unit. The Whistle Blowers went into halftime with a 13-7 lead behind quarterback Zvi Greenstone’s two touchdown passes to Yaakov Rabinowitz. D.E.C’s quarterback Moshe Shear found wide receiver Gidon Hazony wide open on a 4th and long for a touchdown with under a minute left to go in the game to halt the upset bid and salvage a 13-13 tie.

 

The Huskies (0-2) Vs WSG Mercaz Moosen (1-0)

The Huskies struggled on offense for the second consecutive week; having trouble scoring versus a fiery WSG Mercaz Moosen defense. Mercaz quarterback Dovi Mann threw multiple touchdowns to wide receivers Gav Golberg, Elie Yadblok, and Avi Faivish in a 24-6 victory.

 

Big Blue (1-0) Vs American Eagles (0-1)

Big Blue started off the game on the wrong foot; being down by multiple touchdowns early in the game. Big Blue did not let up and mounted an historic comeback in large part by playmakers Jerome Weijtalik and Tzivka Septimus to shock the American Eagles in a 41-39 comeback win.

 

The Mob (1-0) Vs Toras Chaim (0-2)

The Mob looked poised to start their season on a winning note versus a struggling Toras Chaim squad. Toras Chaim’s defense came up big early in the first half; after defensive lineman Yehuda Malek took an interception back for a touchdown to put Toras Chaim up 6-0. The Mob stormed back; scoring 24 unanswered points behind quarterback Akiva Klein’s four touchdown passes to win easily 24-6.

 

Bais (2-0) Vs Judean Audiobook Project (0-1)

Bais continued their impressive start to their season with shutdown defense and power offense. Bais’s quarterback Mordechai Krupp threw three touchdowns passes and their defense played stellar ball all game long in a 20-0 shutout victory.

 

Psychobunnies (1-1) Vs IOT Tech Titans

Psychobunnies rebounded after a shocking loss last week versus Bais. Quarterback Ari Ganz connected with wide receiver Yoni Panigel for two touchdowns to take a commanding lead early. The Psychobunnies defense applied heavy pressure and tight coverage to assist the 25-6 win.
