Rebbishe Vikings hand Mercaz Moosen their first loss of the season.

Week 8 Of The FM Home Loans AFI League was a week of upsets
and teams taking care of business. The turf at Kraft Stadium was filled
with brisk cold air and many in Jerusalem. Teams look to make their
final push before the playoffs start. Many teams have already clinched
while others are fighting to lock in their spot. The last quarter of the
season is upon us with the dream of raising the Holy Land Bowl Trophy.

The Mobsters (8-2) Vs Bandits (5-9)

The mobsters continued their hot streak with power offense and
shutdown defense behind stars, Akiva Klein and Shalom Weisberg to
defeat the Bandits in both games, 27-7 and 13-0.

Mercaz Moosen (11-1) Vs Rebbishe Vikings (6-6)
Mercaz Moosen played shutdown defense and had big time
performances from Shragie Peretz and quarterback Dovie Dreyfuss to
win game one 21-0. Rebbishe Vikings bounced back in game two
behind a last minute drive which ended in a touchdown from
quarterback Solomon Assis to wide receiver Elliot Sayegh to upset the
once undefeated Mercaz Moosen.

Route 38 Warriors (4-8) Vs Orlo (9-3)

Orlo’s offense had trouble racking up points versus a tough veteran
squad of Route 38 Warriors. Orlo’s defense only gave up one score all
night which led to two victories, 7-0 and 7-6.

YLE Bachelors (6-6) Vs BDMG (2-8-2)

YLE Bachelors was able to put their losing streak to a halt versus a
struggling BDMG squad behind team leader, quarterback Avi Zern for
two wins, 12-6 and 12-6.

Joe’s Eagles (5-5-2) Vs Youngblood (9-4-1)

Both teams came hungry for a victory in tough fought game one which
ended in a 7-7 tie. Youngblood’s offense exploded in game two behind
quarterback Moshe Dovid Weissmandl for a 31-13 game two victory.

Toras Chaim (9-3-2) Vs D.E.C (8-4)

Toras Chaim came out clicking on all sides of the ball in game one
behind playmakers Dovid Mamurstein and Yehuda Malik for a shutout
13-0 game one victory. D.E.C came back strong with their own shutout
victory behind three touchdowns from Moshe Shear to win in game
two 22-0.

Blueshells (3-8-1) Vs Big Blue (1-13)

Blueshells broke out of their slump in game one for an 18-13 victory.
Big Blue found a way to finally get in the win column for their first
victory of the season with a game two 7-0 win.

Pizzeria Efrat (11-1) Vs OA Huskies (2-9-1)

Pizzeria Efrat continued their dominance on both sides of the ball
behind veteran leadership with two big time victories, 19-7 and 20-12.
