Service King Spartans march into the Elite 8

The Round of 16 of The FM Home Loans AFI League brought out the best in teams who were looking to break into the elite eight. Defense was the story early in most of the games with the offense showcasing later in the games. Most top teams are advancing along with a Cinderella story of the Service King Spartans. The journey continues along the road to the 31 st Holy Land Bowl.


D.E.C Vs Chippie’s Chocolate Chips

Both teams’ defenses played stellar in the first half not giving the opposing offense anything easy. CCC looked poised to go into halftime with the score tied, but instead D.E.C’s cornerback Avi Schamroth intercepted the ball and took it back for a touchdown to put D.E.C up by two touchdowns going into halftime. D.E.C cruised along in the second half playing well on both sides of the ball to win 31-0 and advance to the elite eight.


BDMG Vs Bear Jews

BDMG came out attacking and aggressive on both sides of the ball to go ahead early. BDMG’s defense accumulated turnovers which their offense cashed in to take a commanding lead. The Bear Jews fought hard to the end but fell in the end to BDMG 33-20.


YLE Bachelors Vs Service King Spartans

Service King Spartans jumped out in front with four consecutive unanswered touchdowns to take a surprising 31-0 early lead. YLE Bachelors who were missing some of their key players had no answer for the overpowering offense of the Service King Spartans, who won 49-12 and head to the elite eight to face D.E.C.


Bandits Vs Rebbishe Vikings

Both teams battled back and forth in an offensive first half for both squads. The bandits looked poised going into halftime only down 20-19 and looking for the upset. The Rebbishe Vikings defense hunkered down in the second half, shutting down the Bandit’s offense entirely while completing scoring drives of their own to cruise on to a 40-19 victory.
