Week 10 – Jan. 14th
ISP-ELIEZER'S MOVERS vs. HARVEY’S SMOKEHOUSE
To kick the night off properly, we had last year’s champions ISP up against their close-second rivals, Harvey’s Smokehouse. Both teams had a lot to prove tonight and kept all spectators on their feet throughout. ISP-Eliezer’s Movers were the first to score, with a TD pass thrown by QB Ilana Frankel and caught by Aliza Zalcman. Harvey’s Smokehouse wouldn’t stay behind and had a beautiful drive all the way down to their end zone, but just as they were about to score Margalit Abell swooped in with an interception and ran it across the field, only to be stopped yards away from a td by Harvey’s defense. Back on offense, ISP’s Kelly Newell scored the TD, and Aliza Zalcman got the extra point, resulting in a 13-0 win for ISP-Eliezer’s Movers.
Game 2 had both defenses fighting tooth, nail, and several ankles. ISP’s Adina, Margalit, and Sharona Abell kept blocking balls, and Avi Goldrich ran all over the field pulling flags. Harvey’s defense was just as superb, and rusher Bayla Greenblum intercepted a ball as she tipped it off QB Ilana Frankel. Finally, ISP-Eliezer’s Movers’ Noa Goldrich was able to score a TD, but the extra point attempt was blocked. Back on offense, Harvey’s Smokehouses’ QB Cindy Scarr threw an incredible pass to Eli Baumol, who ran it in for a TD, and Merav Barish caught the extra point, ending the game with a 7-6 win for Harvey’s Smokehouse.
