Week 5 – Dec. 10th
NYB-PAIGE'S LAKERS vs. ISP-ELIEZER MOVERS
ISP – Eliezer Movers started the game off strong as QB Ilana (Abell) Frankel scored the first TD within seconds of the whistle being blown. Adina Eisenthal- Berkovits came in with a catch landing an extra point for ISP- Eliezer Movers. As the team switched to defense, Avi (Abudhabi) Goldrich intercepted and ran the ball into the end-zone for a pick-6, with Kelly Newell scoring an extra point, bringing ISP-Eliezer Mover to a 14-point lead. As NYB moved onto offense, their team moved fast towards the end-zone, with Bracha Rosenberg and Tova Rabhan connecting with QB Rena Rabhans’ passes, but ISP’s Kelly Newell swooped in for an interception on the 4th down. Just a few short plays later, as the ball was back in NYB’s hands, Avi Goldrich intercepted with a pick-6, yet again. As the first game was winding down, Kelly charged into the end-zone scoring an additional 6 points for ISP and Rachelli Abell added 2 extra points, ending the game with a smashing 34-0 win.
Game 2 started off with a bang as NYB ran the ball, and ISP’s Avi and Adina Eisenthal pulling flags. Avi managed to intercept the ball, allowing Ilana to run the ball and score a TD for ISP-Eliezer Movers, and Noa Goldrich to score an extra point. As NYB takes the offensive position, another interception caught by Kelly Newell, and a TD scored by Adina, earns ISP another 6 points. However, the extra point attempt was blocked by NYBs defense. As the game progresses, ISP’s QB Ilana is back at it with another run down the field, this one stopped by an NYB flag pull. With the One-minute warning, both teams seem more determined than ever, pulling flags and blocking passes, and ISP-Eliezer movers’ Chelli manages to sack NYB’s QB.As ISP-Eliezer Movers switch to offense, NYB intercepts the ball and Kelly stops the play with a flag pull. With only 4 seconds left in the game, Deena Hornstein of NYB runs through the defending ISP and scores a TD for NYB. Final score: 19-6 win for ISP.
BIG BLUE vs. ORLI PRINT
Big Blues’ Roni Khan quarterbacked an outstanding game against Orli Print. With passes caught by almost every player on their team, Big Blue was able to glide towards the end-zone and score a total of 4 TD and 3 extra points during their first game, caught by Ora Gold, Shmidman, Nechama Brickner and Daniella Brown. Orli Print’s offense never gave up, and managed to move up the field, but Big Blue’s defense was showing no mercy as they pulled flags and blocked passes throughout the game. Interceptions were caught by Shmidman and Livia Nulman. Final score: 26-0 win for Big Blue.
The second game was just as intense! On offense, Big Blue’s Shmid was relentless, running across the entire field and scoring 2 TDs, plus an extra point. Daniella Brown and Livia Nulman each scored a TD, and Ora assisted with the extra point. On defense, Atara Klein and Yehudit Brickner kept blocking Orli Prints’ attempts to score, but eventually Lyla Tesler managed to squirm her way past them and score a TD for Orli Print, ending the game with a 25-6 win for Big Blue.
DB BANDITS vs. SO METRO
With team captain Bella Weill returning to the field after a long break, So Metro came out strong with their win over DB Bandits. QB Gaelle Gonzalez threw gorgeous TD passes to Chana Abrams and Bella Weill, and Ronit Reichel scored the extra point. On defense, Racheli Matis caught 2 interception, one of which she ran into the end-zone for a pick-6, ending the first game with a 19-0 win for So Metro.
Racheli’s defense was just as aggressive during the second game, as she intercepted the ball twice and scored another TD for So Metro. Bella Weill scored the other TD of the game, and Racheli caought the extra point. Miki G showed her skills as a fearless rusher, and sacked DB Bandits’ QB, Shiri Pachino. But Shiri managed to keep her nerve, and eventually threw a TD pass to Rina Koegal, with the extra point caught by Rosie Solomon. Final score: 13-7 win for So Metro.
WILDKATZ vs. MISHAAN
In two super close and competitive games, the Wildkatz gave it their all against team Mishaan. Wildkatzs’ QB Racheli Lipner threw 2 amazing passes to Adina Drapkin, and defense player Talya Markowitz followed up with an incredible interception! Unfortunately for the Wildkatz, Mishaan’s defense was on point, and no points were scored by the Wildkatz.
Mishaans had a tough time battling it out, but Adrian Vinson and Rhonda Lloyd came through, scoring a TD each, and Tirza Wilner caught the extra point. Mishaan won both games, with the final scores 7-0 and 6-0.
MTVA vs. HARVEY’S SMOKEHOUSE
The last game of the night started off with a strong lead by team Harvey’s Smokehouse, dominating the field and coming up strong with a 14 point lead. QB Cindy Scaar connected with Rivka Weinberg on the 1st down, who then ran it across the entire field for a TD. Atara Reichel scored the other TD, and Eli Baumol intercepted and ran the ball into the end-zone for a pick-6. Extra points were caught by Rivka and Tehila Lowenstein. With an aggressive defense on both sides, and with a shredded skirt, TVA’s holy (literally) Maytal Bach wouldn’t go down without a fight as she scored a TD for her team, ending the first game with a 20-6 win for Harvey’s.
With a fresh TD under way, TVA was feeling motivated and kicked off the second game in high gear. QB Becca Spitzer threw phenomenal passes caught by Maytal Bach, Tamar Geller, Sophie Maimon, and Eden Gilan. Unfortunately, TVA was unable to clinch the win, for Harvey’s Smokehouse shut down every single play. With incredible interceptions caught by Eli Baumol, a pick-6 by Tehila Lowenstein and a TD caught by Atara Reichel, Harvey’s Smokehouse was back on track! Esti Mandel caught the extra points, bringing the score up to a 14-0 win for Smokehouse.
