Week 6 – Dec. 17th

HARVEY’S SMOKEHOUSE vs. ORLI PRINT

The first game of the night put veteran team Harvey’s Smokehouse up against the young Orli Print girls. In the interest of helping out new teams and better their players, opponent snapper, Harvey’s Esti Levy (Mandel) helped coach Orli Print throughout the game – awesome sportsmanship! And it seemed team Orli Print weren’t going down without a fight. Their tight defense kept Harvey’s Smokehouse from scoring for the majority of the game, but QB Cindy Scarr was able to throw an incredible TD pass to Rivka Weinberg, resulting in a 6-0 win for Smokehouse.

Harvey’s came into the second game with great energy and every intention of adding points onto the scoreboard. And score they did! QB Cindy Scarr threw a total of 4 TD passes, caught by Eli Baumol, Esti Mandel, Bayla Greenblum and Tehila Lowenstein. Bayla and Atara Reichel successfully caught the extra point passes, ending the game with a 26-0 win for Harvey’s Smokehouse.

BIG BLUE vs. DB BANDITS

The DB Bandits bring lots of spirit, supporters, and great vibes every time they play! This is one team that loves playing football and you can definitely see their improvement with every week. Unfortunately for the Bandits, Big Blue doesn’t take the game lightly, and they pulled out all the stops. QB Roni Kahn had a fantastic game, connecting with the offense players under the pressure of DB Bandits’ great rusher, Ashira Herzfeld. One Big Blue offense player in particular, Daniella Friedman, was practically flying as she ran the ball across the entire field to score 3 TDs, as well as scoring an extra point. On defense, Elisheva Marcus kept DB Bandits at bay, pulling flags left and right, with the assist of Atara Klein, Livia Nulman and Meira Jacobowits. Big Blues’ rushers, Nechama and Yehudit Brickner, were doing a great job pressuring and sacking the Bandits QBs, Rosie Solomon and Sari Fein. Final score – 19-0 win for Big Blue.

Game 2 had every DB Bandits player and supporter on their feet, and QBs Rosie and Sari threw some awesome passes, which were yet again blocked by Big Blue’s fierce defense, as well as intercepted by Elisheva Marcus. On Offense, QB Roni Kahn never gave in to the rushers’ pressure and threw beautiful TD passes to Daniella Friedman, Ora Gold, and Yehudit Brickner, who also caught the extra points. With less than a minute left to the game, DB Bandits’s defense kicked into full gear, with Eliana Freeman pulling flags, until finally Shiri Pachino caught and interception, running it in for a pick-6. Adi Bloom caught the extra point. With only 4 seconds left in the game Big Blue’s QB Roni threw an incredible long pass to Daniella Friedman, who of course ran completely uninterrupted to score the final TD of the night, resulting in a 27-7 win for Big Blue.

ISP-ELIEZER MOVERS vs. MISHAAN

The game started off with a bang, with an interception by ISP-Eliezer Mover's Avi Goldrich, followed by a touchdown by Margalit Abell. Mishaan wasn’t going to make it easy for ISP, and their rushers, Ayala Farkas and Tirza Wilner, were able to sack ISP’s QB, Ilana Frankel, several times. Ilana still managed to get away from the rush and run the ball nearly to the end-zone, only to be stopped abruptly by Mishaans strong defense. The attempt wasn’t for nothing, as ISP’s Racheli Abell scores a TD, and Noa Goldrich assisted with the extra point. Back on defense, Ilana Frankel intercepted a ball and ran it in for a pick-6, and a few short plays later, another interception by Racheli Abell lead Noa Goldrich to score the last TD for ISP, ending the game with a 28-0 win for ISP Eliezer Movers.

Mishann kicked off the second game with an amazing safety, by rusher Tirza Wilner. ISP’s rusher, Noa Goldrich, didn’t lag behind and managed to sack Mishaan’s QB as well. This was a close and competitive game, with many flags pulled and passes blocked by both teams. Finally, Aliza zalchman scores a touchdown for ISP Eliezer Movers, and Noa Goldrich caught the extra point pass. Just as the game was nearing its final whistle, ISP’s Adina Berkowitz completed QB Ilana Frankels’ running effort with a touchdown. Final score- 13-2 win for ISP-Eliezer Movers.

NYB vs. WILDKATZ

These two teams sure put on a show and battled it out, despite the rain coming down heavy throughout the game. Wildkatzs’ defense started off strong, with Adira Levine blocking passes. QB Racheli Lipner had a great game and threw really nice passes, but NYB’s aggressive defense made it difficult for the Wildkatz to score, and Rena Rabhan successfully intercepted the ball. Meanwhile, NYBs QB, Rena Rabhan, threw amazing passes to Bracha Rosenberg and to Tova Rabhan, who scored 2 TDs for her team, ending the first game with a 12-0 win for NYB.

Game 2 was just as nerve-racking and slippery! On the first down of the game, NYB’s Deena Hornstein received a handoff and ran it all the way down the field, scoring a TD. Deena had an incredible second game, as she kept scoring with another TD and an extra point, as well as intercepting on defense. All in all, this was a really fun game to watch, and though both teams were completely soaked at the end of it, they seemed to have a blast. Final score – 13-0 win for NYB.

EDEN’S EAGLES vs. MTVA

This was the most competitive game of the night by far, with both teams aiming for the same 2 goals: scoring as many points and getting out of the rain as fast as possible. TVAs QB Becca Spitz threw a gorgeous TD pass to Maytal Liyat, and soon after Eden’s Eagles scored a TD too. Both teams had strong defense and the ball got tossed from one side of the field to the other, until each team scored 1 more TD. Just as the game was coming to a close, both teams yet again scored 1 TD each, resulting in an 18-18 tie!

During the final game of the night, TVA started out strong, but Eden’s Eagles seriously kicked into high gear. QB Lyla Zucker threw phenomenal passes, 4 of which resulted in TDs, and 2 extra points. Edens Eagles also had an incredible night on defense, with 7 interceptions in total- 5 caught by Lyla and 2 by Nitzana Strous. Final score – 26-0 win for the Eagles.
