Week 8 – Dec. 31th
HARVEY’S SMOKEHOUSE vs. MISHAAN
These two skilled and competitive teams pulled out all the stops as they battled it out for the win. Both quarterbacks, Harvey Smokehouse’s Cindy Scarr and Mishaan’s Shira Lloyd, had amazing games and threw beautiful passes all night long. Defense was just as strong, as both teams kept pulling flags and blocking passes. On Harvey’s Smokehouse offense, veteran player Atara Reichel caught an incredible TD pass, with Rivka Weinberg securing the extra point. On defense, Merav Barash intercepted the ball and ran it in for a pick-6. Mishaan wouldn’t stay far behind, as Tzipora Hornstein swooped in with an interception and scored a TD for her team, ending the game with a 13-6 win for Harvey Smokehouse.
Game 2 was just as close and intense as the first, with both teams’ defenses showing their skills and blocking any touchdown attempts. Shout-outs go to Harvey’s Smokehouses’ Robin Kravetz and Tehila Lowenstein, and Mishaans’ Tirza Wilner and Ayala Farkas, who all killed it on defense with flag pulls and blocks. Smokehouses’ Tehila and Bayla Greenblum caught 1 interception each, and Bayla ran her interception in for a pick-6, resulting in a 6-0 win for Harvey’s Smokehouse.
SO METRO vs. WILDKATZ
Fresh off their first victory of the season last week, the Wildkatz stepped up with high spirits and showed much improvement. QB Racheli Lipner had a great game, with almost all her passes caught by her offensive players. However, So Metro held a tight defensive wall, with 2 interceptions by Racheli Matis and Bella Weill, and no points were scored by the Wildkatz. Meanwhile, So Metro’s offense, led by QB Chana Abrams, had some incredible drives. Bella Weill scored 2 TDs, and Racheli Matis scored an extra point. Final score: 13-0 win for So Metro.
So Metro stayed on point during their second game as well, and the woman of the hour was Tamar Brown, with 2 impressive TDs, 3 extra points, and an interception. Bella Weill ran the ball in for another TD, while on defense Miki Gorodetzer showed her rushing skills and got a safety. All in all, the So Metro girls scored a total of 23 points against Wildkatz, who might not have scored but had amazing sportsmanship and a great time.
