The FM Home Loans AFI League Holy Land Bowl featured The Tzioni Fisherman clashing with the defending champion Imrei Hillbillies with the Holy Land Bowl Trophy on the line.   The rain was pouring down, the wind brushing harshly against the skin, and the cool air filled up the Jerusalem winter weather at Kraft Stadium. The Fans fought off the cold weather and packed the stands cheering for their favorite team to be crowned champions.

The Tzioni Fisherman came out hungry and looking to knock off the defending champions early, as quarterback Avi Zern used his legs to run for a touchdown after throwing a touchdown to wide receiver Ab Reznick to give his team an early 13-0 comfortable lead.  Hillbillies struck back with quarterback Yaakov Buff connecting with wide receiver Momo Goodstein to cut the lead to 13-7.  The Fisherman were able to score again before halftime when Avi Zern found Ab Reznick in the end zone for the second time to give his team a 19-7 lead going into halftime.

The Hillbillies could not get their offense going in the second half having tons of trouble moving the ball down the field.  Tzioni Fisherman’s defense was confusing the offense of the Hillbillies who were unable to figure out the Fisherman’s zone defense.   The Fisherman’s quarterback Avi Zern rushed for his second touchdown to give his team a commanding 25-7 lead.  The Hillbillies were unable to mount a comeback and took the crushing defeat to the new FM Home Loans AFI League Champions Tzioni Fisherman, 25-7.

The FM Home Loans AFI League’s 29th season ended with the Tzioni Fisherman walking away with the Holy Land Bowl Trophy after knocking off the defending champion Imrei Hillbillies.  Over forty teams entered the season with big hopes and goals, but only one champion was crowned.  Players are already building new teams in anticipation for the 30th year of the FM Home Loans AFI League, where once again the bright lights will shine, the refs will blow their whistles, and the curved football will be kicked into another legendary football season at Kraft Stadium.
