The Mob, WSG Mercaz, and Psychobunnies all win in shutout fashion

Week 3 of the FM Home Loans AFI League showcased the top teams in the league taking care of business and picking up victories. Many teams started off their season in Week 3 with tough losses as others bounced back from a previous tough outing. Many teams still looking to find their groove as other teams are getting hot. The quarter mark is behind us, but the journey has just begun to the Holy Land Bowl.

 

The Whistle Blowers (1-0-1) Vs Judean Audiobook Project (0-2)

The Whistle Blowers came out firing on all cylinders, looking for their first win of the season. Quaterback Zvi Greenstone threw for five touchdown passes to lead the offense and cornerback Zachi Silas led the shutdown defense with three interceptions in a 42-2 blowout victory.

 

DEC (2-0-1) Vs Bais (2-1)

Both team offenses scored multiple times in a highlight clip first half. DEC had five touchdowns in the first half behind two rushing touchdowns from Yerucham Pliner and three throwing touchdowns from Moshe Shear to go into halftime with a two-touchdown lead. DEC pulled away in the second half and slowed down the Bais offense to win 41-28.

 

IFG Pandas (0-1) Vs WSG Mercaz Moosen (2-0)

WSG Mercan Moosen continued to play hard-knock defense and have timely offense. Mercaz’s quarterback Dovi Mann threw for three touchdown passes to wide receivers Avi Faivish, Gav Goldberg, and Moshe Frishman in a 21-0 shutout victory.

 

Psychobunnies (2-1) Vs Diesel Devils (0-1)

Diesel Devils were looking to start off their season on the right foot but ran into a fiery Psychobunnies squad. The Diesel Devils kept it close in the first half with quality defense but could not score versus the shutdown defense of the Psychobunnies. Quarterback Ari Ganz threw for three touchdowns in a 20-0 shutout victory.

 

Route 38 Warriors (1-1) Vs Big Blue (1-1)

The Route 38 Warriors were looking to bounce back from their tough lost in their previous matchup. Big Blue looked poised to continue their winning streak. The Route 38 Warriors play solid defense behind defensive lineman; father and son duo; Mike and Josh Kashnow. The Route 38 Warriors came from behind late in the second half to pull off the upset in a 20-18 victory.

 

The Mob (2-0) Vs The Huskies (0-3)

The Huskies continued to struggle on offense as they faced off versus a stubborn Mob team. The Mob’s quarterback Akiva Klein hooked up with his favorite target Sammy Sonnenberg for two of his four touchdowns in a 27-0 shutout win.
